which has offices in Charlotte and Los Angeles will be making a movie this fall called A Love For The Game.
It is a story based on a street soccer league formed in Charlotte by the Urban Ministry Center
as part of a program that helps homeless get back on their feet and off the street.
Originally the team was called Art Works Football Club, in reference to the program Community Works 945 that organized the team. Now their name is Street Soccer 945.
They started with a long losing streak but their patience payed off as they rose through the ranks playing in the U.S. and internationally, In 2005 they represented United States at the Homeless World Cup in Edinburgh, Scotland. The players also benefited from the team as it helped them overcome the obstacles that were keeping them on the street.
Bert Hesse and Evan Hesse of Central Avenue Pictures will be directing. A portion of the proceeds from the movie will be donated to charities.
