As the Charlotte screening of Waiting For Butterflies approaches, THE iNDEE wants to give you an opportunity to "Meet The Actors" of the film by introducing the fabulous, Bonnie Johnson.

What was your favorite part of playing the character in Waiting for Butterflies

Playing a woman dying of cancer yet being an inspiration to her family.

What are your hobbies/pastimes?

Spending time with my two precious grandchildren.

How did you know you wanted to be an actor? How long have you been acting?

Acting has been my passion since I was in a play in Kindergarten .

What is one thing you think most people don't know about you?

Robin Williams kissed me on the lips when our scenes in Patch Adams wrapped.

What are a few of your favorite films, film genre, writers, directors, etc?

More than any other filmmaker, I think Mel Gibson in The Passion of the Christ so captured the horrific beatings and suffering that Christ endured, that it was very disturbing to watch. I also liked his portrayal of Satan and thought the whole film was very creatively done. You can't watch it without thanking Jesus for all that He endured to take our place on the cross so our sins can be forgiven.

Les Misérables is also one of my favorites, mainly because of the poignant, yet beautiful story of forgiveness it portrays. The actors were wonderful, although I did think that Russell Crowe was horribly miscast, since he was a terrible singer. That was a distraction for me.

If you could meet anyone for an afternoon who would it be and want would you want to talk about?

I'm one of those "shy" actors who would be too nervous to carry on a meaningful conversation with anyone well-known.

What was the last movie you watched? Impressions?

Lone Survivor - and again, it made me aware of the tremendous sacrifice our military personnel make without thinking twice about their own safety so we can enjoy our many freedoms.

What are some upcoming film projects you are working on?

Nothing going on at the moment but trusting God for some open doors soon.

Is there a director you would love to work with someday?

Anyone who likes my work well enough to hire me.

Come meet Bonnie Johnson at the Charlotte screening of Waiting for Butterflies July 17th! Please visit the event page and indicate if you will be joining us by accepting the invite. Link is in the first comment.
