A Not So Still Life is a documentary I ran across this week as I was looking up other things.  A feature length film about artist Ginny Ruffner.   She was known as Ginny Martin back in the days when she was growing up in Atlanta, GA and Fort Mill, SC before leaving home and getting married.

After attending the University of Georgia she ended up in Seattle, Washington and became a ground breaking ceramic artist known worldwide for her ceramic sculptures.

is looking for adult men to join the cast of Bye Bye Birdie.   Bye Bye Birdie will be presented at Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church in Wakefield, MA on September 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30.  Rehearsals take place in Wakefield on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings (all cast members are NOT required at all rehearsals.)

Auditions thjs weekend for the next season of America's Got Talent in San Francisco.  Followed by the last audition for this season at the end of the month in New York City.

Howie Mandel and Sharon Osborne will be returning as judges and Howard Stern will be new judge this season.  Nick Cannon as usual as host.

Labor Day, a movie in development to be directed by Jason Reitman is casting for lead and supporting roles.   A mother and her son give a wounded man a ride as police search for an escaped convict.  Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin have already been cast.


Lead Role: Henry - boy, 13 years old ( actor must be between 10-14), Caucasian, a true innocent, has taken over the role of caretaker and protector to his fragile and reclusive mother Adele, an observant boy who understands his mother's loneliness, but is too young to understand why he cannot entirely fill it, when a new man enters the picture the friend-less Henry is both exhilarated by the relationship and threatened by the prospect that he is no longer needed by his mother.

Lead Role: Eleanor - girl, 14 years old (actor must be between 10-14), Caucasian, a skinny girl, a product of a broken home, newly moved from a big city to live with her father and is already bored with the small town entertainments, an intelligent girl, learned how to get what she wants with wit, calculations, and her newly developed sexual awareness, to Henry she is the mysterious hot girl who seems to know everything about the world that he doesn't.

Supporting Role: Barry - boy, 15 years old (actor must be between 12-17), Caucasian, mentally challenged, could be Down's Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy, the wheelchair-bound son of Evelyn (the lead character's only friend), can only communicate through gurgles and mumbles, is perhaps more engaged in the world around him than his mother realizes, seeking actors who have either condition described above.

Amy Grant and NBC are developing a new prime time series called Three Wishes.  What they are looking for are people who help others with little thought about themselves.  That person will be granted a wish that can be for them, a friend, a community, or their family.

"If you had one wish in the world and could ask for absolutely anything from the heart, what would it be?"

To apply you will need to submit a video tape, specify which state the wish will take place in, who the wish is for, what the wish is and why it should be granted.

Casting call for the Coen Brothers movie Inside Llewyn Davis today and tomorrow in New York City.

The film is about a 60's singer/songwriter that is working his way around the New York City folk scene.  Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan who was recently in the movie Drive are already signed on to the production.   Oscar will be playing the part of Llewyn Davis.  John Goodman and Justin Timberlake will also be starring.

Auditions for Season 9 of So You Think You Can Dance will be underway in January in Atlanta, Dallas, New York, Salt Lake City, and Los Angeles.

So You Think You Can Dance is an unscripted series where participants skilled in many forms of dance such as ballet, break dancing, salsa, swing, jazz, etc... will compete to be America's Favorite Dancer.  Last years winner, Melanie Moore, received $250,000, was featured in magazine articles and advertising, while also participating in the 2011 So You Think You Can Dance Tour in 32 cities.
