The Town Players of New Canaan are having open auditions for Amadeus by Peter Schaffer. Directed by Lynne Bolton the story is about Mozart, a carefree genius when it comes to music and Salieri, the brooding court composer who would wish that he had half the talent.
Roles:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Male actor 25-35 genius composer and musician. Versatile actor. Physical theater training a plus.
Constanza Weber: female actor, age 22-32. Mozart's wife.
Joseph II: Male actor age 45-60. Emperor of Austria.
Count Johann Kilian Von Strack: Male actor Age 50- 65, Royal Chamberlain
Count Franz Orsini-Rosenberg: Male actor, age 45-65, Director of the Imperial Opera
Baron Gottfried Van Sweiten: Male actor, Age 45-65, Prefect of the Imperial Library
The cast also includes several silent parts as Salieri's valet, cook, wife, citizens of Vienna, venticelli and servants. These parts together will create an ensemble and chorus that together drive the action of the play.ooding court composer, who would wish that he had half the talent.
