Here is an interview that Benh Zeitlin did with Charlie Rose about his movie Beasts of the Southern Wild.  This film has won many awards thoughout the world and was nominated for four Academy Awards.

Discover how he was able to achieve  the right chemistry between Quvenzhané Wallis as Hushpuppy and her on screen father. These two roles did not use professional actors and it is interesting to discover how they were chosen.

It's a story about how to survive loss. Filmed in the Louisiana wetland.  Benh was just wanting to make a film he could be proud of.  He certainly accomplished that goal.

One Eyed Dog Films will begin shooting the feature film Cutter in Baton Rouge this summer.

It is about Amanda and her friends who discover a grounded boat on the bayou.  Seeming to be a great spot for a party they begin their plans.  What they didn't know is that the boat is the home of Cutter who tries to defend his home when the students fight back.

Casting calls for the movie Hot Flashes being filmed in Louisiana.  

Hot Flashes stars Daryl Hannah, Brooke Shields, and Melanie Griffith.  It is about a middle aged women's basketball team that challenge an arrogant "Girls' State" high school team to a series of games to raise money for breast cancer.  The action and rivalry precedes on and off the court.

A Sci-Fi movie starring Tom Cruis and Morgan Freeman is casting extras in Kenner, Louisiana tomorrow. 

The movie will be filmed in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas starting in March.  It involves a veteran soldier sent to a distant planet to destroy and alien race.

Django Unchained, a Quentin Tarantino western, has began shooting and is casting for parts.  They will be filming in New Orleans February through June.

It is a spaghetti Western type of film focusing on a freed slave turned bounty hunter who goes on a journey to rescue his wife.  It has quite a cast including: Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jamie Foxx, Don Johnson, Gerald McRaney and Tom Wopat.

The story is set in the future and is about Ender Wiggin an exceptionally gifted child who is trained in warfare along with other smart children.  They compete in war games aboard an orbiting space station to prepare for their mission which is war with an alien race in another solar system that has been attacking earth. 

Asa Butterfield is cast as Ender Wiggin, Harrison Ford as Colonel Hyram Graff, Abigail Breslin as Valentine Wiggin, and Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham.

A casting call for Ender's Game will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana this weekend.  Filming will be in New Orleans from February through June.

Here is casting call for a fun feature length movie from Brownstone Productions and Universal pictures.  Perfect Pitch is a comedy about college singing competitions and a capella singing groups.  Anna Kendrick who was previously in the movie Twilight and currently starring in 50/50 will take a lead role along with Brittany Snow (American Dreamz) and Anna Camp (The Help).

Caballero Casting is having an open call this Saturday.  Your best chance of getting in the movie is to attend the open call but they will also have video submissions for the next 3 weeks.

The Paperboy, directed by Lee Daniels (Shadowboxer, Precious), is calling for extras in New Orleans.

The Paperboy, to be released in 2012, stars Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman, John Cusack, and Zac Efron.


Caucasian Female Needed
