Here is an interview that Benh Zeitlin did with Charlie Rose about his movie Beasts of the Southern Wild.  This film has won many awards thoughout the world and was nominated for four Academy Awards.

Discover how he was able to achieve  the right chemistry between Quvenzhan√© Wallis as Hushpuppy and her on screen father. These two roles did not use professional actors and it is interesting to discover how they were chosen.

It's a story about how to survive loss. Filmed in the Louisiana wetland.  Benh was just wanting to make a film he could be proud of.  He certainly accomplished that goal.

The story is set in the future and is about Ender Wiggin an exceptionally gifted child who is trained in warfare along with other smart children.  They compete in war games aboard an orbiting space station to prepare for their mission which is war with an alien race in another solar system that has been attacking earth. 

Asa Butterfield is cast as Ender Wiggin, Harrison Ford as Colonel Hyram Graff, Abigail Breslin as Valentine Wiggin, and Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham.




Needed

A casting call for Ender's Game will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana this weekend.  Filming will be in New Orleans from February through June.

Open casting call this weekend for Snitch, a film starring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) and Susan Sarandon.  It is about a father who goes undercover in order to free his son, who was framed in a drug deal, from prison.  Filming will begin in December.

Here is casting call for a fun feature length movie from Brownstone Productions and Universal pictures.  Perfect Pitch is a comedy about college singing competitions and a capella singing groups.  Anna Kendrick who was previously in the movie Twilight and currently starring in 50/50 will take a lead role along with Brittany Snow (American Dreamz) and Anna Camp (The Help).

Caballero Casting is having an open call this Saturday.  Your best chance of getting in the movie is to attend the open call but they will also have video submissions for the next 3 weeks.

The Paperboy, directed by Lee Daniels (Shadowboxer, Precious), is calling for extras in New Orleans.

The Paperboy, to be released in 2012, stars Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman, John Cusack, and Zac Efron.


Caucasian Female Needed
  • 20-30 years old.
  • Must be 5 months or more pregnant.
  • Comfortable with partial nudity.
  • Featured extra rate $150 per 12 hour day.
  • Shooting of this scene will be August 8th.
