Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

Coming up next weekend will be the first of two Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festivals.  Starting this year there will be two festivals held on consecutive weekends. It's so popular they're holding it twice!

Some of the acts that are scheduled to perform are the Black Keys, Mazzy Star, Radio Head, Bon Iver, The Shins, SBTRKT, Zeds Dead, We Were Promised Jet Packs, Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg, Florence the Machine, Girl Talk, and many, many more..

Besides all the great acts there will be plenty of good food and drink to choose from.  Need a quick bite?  There will be food trucks available.  Want something more relaxed and satisfying then go to one of the several restaurants or bars setup on the site.

Most of the tickets are sold out but there are a few premium camping passes left.  For those of you that can't be there in person you can watch the live stream on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/coachella/live



Zia Record Exchange will be open during the festival so you can purchase new or used records and CDs.  Record Store Day will feature special releases, and artist signings will be available. in the Zia tent.

If you like to be the center of attention and are the one everyone wants to have at their parties then you are a candidate to be on the new ABC reality show Glass House.

A nationwide search is underway looking for dynamic, competitive, energetic, and outgoing people to compete for a chance to wien $250,000.

Auditions thjs weekend for the next season of America's Got Talent in San Francisco.  Followed by the last audition for this season at the end of the month in New York City.

Howie Mandel and Sharon Osborne will be returning as judges and Howard Stern will be new judge this season.  Nick Cannon as usual as host.

America's Got Talent is searching for entertainers for the next season of their hit show.  If you have an act worthy of Las Vegas then now's your chance!  Pre-registration is underway and casting calls are scheduled for the following cities.

Amy Grant and NBC are developing a new prime time series called Three Wishes.  What they are looking for are people who help others with little thought about themselves.  That person will be granted a wish that can be for them, a friend, a community, or their family.


"If you had one wish in the world and could ask for absolutely anything from the heart, what would it be?"


To apply you will need to submit a video tape, specify which state the wish will take place in, who the wish is for, what the wish is and why it should be granted.

Checklist:
  • Register your crew.
  • Attend one of the open calls or send a video submission.
  • Each crew member needs to complete application and release forms.
  • Bring a copy of your music to leave with the producers.
  • Come dressed in attire that will showcase your routine.
  • Be prepared to be at auditions all day.  Bring snacks and water.
  • Bring resume's, headshots, and DVD of performances if you have them.

Auditions for Season 9 of So You Think You Can Dance will be underway in January in Atlanta, Dallas, New York, Salt Lake City, and Los Angeles.

So You Think You Can Dance is an unscripted series where participants skilled in many forms of dance such as ballet, break dancing, salsa, swing, jazz, etc... will compete to be America's Favorite Dancer.  Last years winner, Melanie Moore, received $250,000, was featured in magazine articles and advertising, while also participating in the 2011 So You Think You Can Dance Tour in 32 cities.

Kona Surf Film Festival This Weekend

Kona Surf Film Festival starts this Friday.

Countdown time till the Kona Surf Film Festival, running this weekend Dec. 2nd and 3rd. It's gonna be a great weekend! We've got Robby Machado cruising out on saturday, "Leave a Message" star Lakey Peterson is hanging out for the girl's surf flick, director Cliff Kapono repping his film FTL, and cinematographer Scott Soens will be around for two films - "Year Zero" and "Come Hell or High Water".  We've got "Buffalo" director Tommy Moore cruising, we've got great music by Leche De Tigre and Kimie Miner... And who knows? We've heard rumors of other surf stars and surprise musicians! Gonna be fun so make it out if you can!

Casting call for Chavez a feature film directed by Diego Luna and being produced by Mr. Mudd (John Malkovich, Russell Smith, Lianne Halfon) and Canana Films.  

The film is a biography about Cesar Chavez a civil-rights activist and labor organizer who help found the National Farm Workers Association which later became the United Farm Workers.
